Learn Why You Should Never Throw Away Banana Peels!

A lot of experts claim that many fruits and vegetable peels contain more nutrients than the vegetable of the fruit itself.

As an example, potato peelings are rich in vitamin C, fiber, and multiple minerals, including sodium, potassium, calcium, and iron. Banana and orange peels too contain a wealth of nutrients and can be used in many ways.

Here, we must emphasize the fact that most fruits today have been treated with pesticides and must always be washed and cleaned thoroughly before use in order to prevent adverse effects.

You must detoxify them by simply adding a tablespoon of lemon juice and one of white vinegar to a cup of water and use this solution for rinsing after washing them with water. Or you can also simply soak them in baking soda.

Are you in dilemma? Green or yellow banana peel?

Cancer-fighting characteristics are more present in ripe bananas and they can help your body create white blood cells. But if you want to lose weight, green peels are better because they contain more probiotics.

Probiotics help your digestive health. Also, it has been shown that green peels increase the levels of serotonin and dopamine.

I know it would be hard for you to eat the peel, but there are some ways you can do that:

Make a smoothie. Throw away both ends of the peel and put it in a blender, adding some coconut milk, cinnamon, ice, and any other ingredient you like. If you choose this method, use yellow peels because they have a banana flavor and are sweeter.

The other option for ripe bananas is tea. To prepare the tea, remove the ends and boil the peel in a pot for about 10 minutes.

Strain it and enjoy your banana tea. If you want your tea sweeter, add a little honey. However, green bananas are better for cooking. You can use green banana peels to prepare chutneys or curries or even use them instead of potatoes.

The only thing you need is being creative.

Orange peel

Orange peels are truly a gift from nature, and just one medium size orange peel provides about 117 different phytonutrients and 60 flavonoids.

Also, orange peels can dissolve phlegm and soothe asthma attacks due to the essential oils they contain.

There is also ‘D-Limonene‘, an essential oil that helps dilute acids supports intestinal health and liver functioning.
