Sex is a great stress reducer. Having sex regularly will reduce the number of stress hormones and make you feel more relaxed about life. This balance is important and without it, you could be ready to snap at any moment.

It’s more difficult to be aroused

It’s hard to believe but it’s true. If you don’t have sex regularly it can be difficult for a lot of people to become aroused. Erection problems can become more frequent for men and it can be harder for a woman to have an orgasm. So, it’s important to maintain your sex life to ensure that the “switch” is always turned on.

Your dreams change

You may suddenly notice that you’re having strange dreams when your sex life is suffering. Some people start having dreams about sex or start having orgasms in their sleep.

You may lose your desire to have sex over time

When your body notices that you are going through a dry spell sexually, the production of sex hormones is reduced. You will feel less like having sex if you have been abstinent for a long period of time. In addition, your libido will be affected. This is all due to your sex hormones slowly diminishing.

You’ll feel more distant from your partner or yourself

When two people in a relationship rarely sleep together and have sex, their interpersonal distance becomes greater. You may start having uncertain feelings towards your partner and other people may seem attractive to you.

Studies show that regular sex helps fight depression and can sometimes be just as effective as antidepressants.

Your risk of cancer increases

For men, the risk of prostate cancer increases when they stop having sex for an extended period of time. It’s important for men to “flush out” their pipes regularly because this significantly reduces the risk.
